Why are sewing workshops important?
Because there are few things as intimidating as a sewing machine or a needle and thread when you do not know how to use it in times when you need it most.

Hard skills
Being able to sew, or to alter a broken garment is a skill that will come in handy during your lifetime.

Soft skills
Patience, endurance, resilience, and many more skills are hidden lessons that no one can take away from you.

The thrill of success
Sewing is cheaper than therapy, that much is true.
Sewing is also its own reward when you succeed after you take on a huge challenge.

What are hand-sewing workshops?
We will start with the basics of understanding, respecting, and working with your tools by collecting your sewing kit.
Then we will move on to sewing projects you can do by hand. You will learn different techniques and lessons as we move along and in due time we can move on to more difficult projects.

Collect your sewing kit kick-off.
What is that about?
Every individual who begins one of my Friday-ongoing classes will start with this little course.
You will over the first six classes receive a part of the sewing kit and learn a lesson about it.
This sewing kit may go home, but has to come along again with every workshop. It is important to learn to look after one’s things.
This step can be skipped if you wish to rather get a quote for a whole kit all at once.

Can the parents join in?
Parents are welcome to come inside for the class, but please do not interfere with the lesson.
If a parent wants to join in on the fun, they must either pay individually or opt for the mother-daughter package to share with their child.

What about load-shedding?
We will do hand sewing on a day when we have load-shedding.
After all, it will teach you what to do in a similar situation, and sewing is all about being creative and knowing how to improvise when one has to.

What sewing machine do I need for the occasion?
You do not need a fancy machine.
If you have one, it is a plus, but we will be working on the basics.
I will teach you how to regularly clean our machine, and to take care of it so you do not have to send it for a service every time it causes you a headache.
